Integrated systems approach for sustainable byproduct upcycling

Presenter: Dr. Nurhan Turgut Dunford (PhD)

Dr. Turgut Dunford is the Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Food Security at the University of Guelph and a Professor in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University.

In this seminar, Dr. Turgut Dunford will discuss how grain and oilseed byproducts, often rich in proteins, fibers, lipids, and bioactive compounds, can be upcycled using green, environmentally responsible processes. The presentation will demonstrate how engineering innovations can optimize nutrient recovery while reducing the environmental footprint of food production and contributing to a more circular bioeconomy.
