FREE: Compost 101 - Scraps to Soil
Gardening General
Compost is a vital part of building and maintaining healthy garden soil. This course will give you a solid understanding of how to make rich compost at home out of kitchen scraps and yard waste. We will learn the basic, 5-step recipe for a successful compost pile as well as how to troubleshoot common problems. We will also cover how to get a compost pile to heat up, and when that is necessary. In addition to discussing compost bins and piles we will also talk about several alternative techniques such as trench composting, mulch, vermicompost and compost tea. There will be time for questions at the end of the session.
