FREE: What’s wrong with my plant?
Gardening General
Whether you are a novice or experienced home gardener, diagnosing a plant problem can be difficult and frustrating. In this 2-hour workshop presented by Helen Shook (Diagnostician at Gardenline) you will learn about the enquiry framework she uses to diagnose what is wrong with a plant. It's all about asking the right questions and looking beyond the obvious (like insects and diseases) and figuring out if a disorder is the underlying cause of the problem. There will be lots of case studies as well as tips on how to find credible information on the internet. Note: This a basic, introductory level diagnostics class and is not the same class as our Master Gardener level diagnostics class. This is a personal interest class only. It does not qualify for certification purposes.
This free class was provided through our Healthy Yards Partnership and funded by the City of Saskatoon. Thank you!

About your Instructor
Helen has been at the University of Saskatchewan since 2017. During the growing season, she operates Gardenline, where she answers questions from the public, and writes for the website and social media. She is kept busy working on a variety of special projects at the university over the winter months. She holds her Prairie Horticulture Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Master Gardener as well. Helen hasn’t met a plant she doesn’t like and grows a little of everything (actually a lot of everything) indoors and out, at her home in Saskatoon.
