Public attention is captured by recent reports on food fraud concerning food oil, honey, juice, syrup, and meat products. Economically motivated adulteration (food fraud) are subjects of increasing concern from regulators, retailers, producers, and researchers. A growing catalog of detection methods is used to monitor and enforce regulations and quality standards to protect consumers and producers from health and economic impacts of food fraud.
Our panel features guests from government, industry, and research sectors together to discuss the current issues and practices of food fraud defense. Excerpts from the webinar will be used for a public outreach video series, coming winter 2021. Moderated by Sarah Purdy @gooforscience, hosted by Usask and AOCS.
