ē kanātahk askiy

The name ē kanātahk askiy was gifted to our project through ceremony by Elder Margaret Larocque. It is a phrase in ᓀᐦᐃᔭᐍᐏᐣ nēhiyawēwin that can be translated to "it is a clean earth." We have taken this as a call to action to guide our work.

Soil and Agroecosystem (SAGE) Health Project

The ē kanātahk askiy SAGE project aims to establish a network to share knowledge of soil and agroecosystem health from Indigenous and western science perspectives for First Nations across the prairies. Guided by Indigenous values and knowledge, we envision Indigenous agroecosystems that foster soil health, biodiversity, and resiliency to climate change.
