Eugenia discovered studying poultry is the best way to combine her interests in birds, animal behaviour and applied science! Under the supervision of Drs. Hank Classen and Karen Schwean-Lardner, Eugenia is enrolled in a Ph.D. program focusing on poultry nutrition and behaviour.
Originally from Argentina, Eugenia completed an undergraduate degree in Biological Science at the University of Buenos Aires. After taking a course on biodiversity, she developed a love of birds and their population dynamics, and geared her undergraduate focus to ecology and animal behaviour. Before coming to Saskatoon, Eugenia finished a M.Sc. program in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Guelph studying foraging and dustbathing behaviour of laying hens in large furnised cages.
